'First thin paper edition'. Association copy. Good+ leather bound HC. Zaehnsdorf signed binding in full red-brown hard grain morocco, covers framed with gilt stamped double rule; spine with 5 raised bands, gilt rule framed panels and letters; all edges gilt; marbled end papers in combed nonpareil pattern; India paper. This has been rebound with old hard-grain morroco under saved original spine and covers; the newer and older leathers are a near match; 'Bound by Zaehnsdorf, London England' stamped in gilt on the front cover turn-in at the tail edge appears to be on the newer leather. Covers and spine are clean, lightly scuffed; the original covers and spine have slight chipping at edges; light rubbing at cover fore corners; joints are supple; tightly bound; interior hinges are cloth; owner name in pencil on front fly leaf 'E Bunker'; clean interior; text pages very slightly age darkened at edges. 350 illustrations by author. From the collection of Ellsworth Bunker (U.S. Ambassador to Argentina, Italy, India, Nepal, South Vietnam, Organization of American States, and twice recipient of U.S. Presidential Medal of Freedom).
