A beautiful collection of eighteenth century verses from poet and essayist Austin Dobson, illustrated throughout by Hugh Thomson. With 'For Old Sake's Sake' as the dedicatory poem to Lady Bowen. With fifty illustrations by Irish illustrator Hugh Thomson, who was best known for his pen-and-ink illustrations of works by authors including Jane Austen, Charles Dickens and J. M. Barrie. Collated, complete.Bookplate to the front paste down, without name. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart, with light bumping to the extremities and to the spine. Slight rubbing, mainly to the spine, causing loss to the gilt decoration. Bookplate to the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean, with the occasional light spotting. Very Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
