Hardback (no dust jacket - as issued?). Flat signed in blue ink to the tail of the title page by Douglas Bland (illustrator). Bound in beige cloth - stamped in black to the front board. Introduction by Edmund Blunden. 'The illustrated version of The Ballad of Reading Gaol first appeared in Elixir, the journal of the Hong Kong University Medical Society, in February, 1957. the present edition is limited to one hundred numbered copies of which this is No. 49'. A lovely, fresh, clean, tight near fine copy. No other inscriptions other than the artist's signature.
