Good/Very Good. 272pp., includes a list of the complete works, acknowledgements, colour plates, select bibliography, illustration acknowledgements and index. Yellow coloured end papers. Coloured illustrated frontispiece, being a reproduction of a painting attributed to Gerard Granville, "Balzac with Frederick Lemaitre the actor and Theophile Gautier.". Within the text there are 39 coloured and 162 black-and-white illustrations. Yellow tint to top paper edge. Yellow coloured boards with blind stamped title running down the front fore edge of the book and black writing on the spine. Illustrated dust wrapper, showing "Balzac wearing his monk's robe" by Boulanger, with orange and white writing on the front panel and spine. A biography of the French 19th century writer Honore Balzac. The rear panel of the dustjacket is slightly rubbed, and the book has a musty smell. Size: 4to 9¾" - 12" tall. We seem to specialize in non mainstream stuff but read and stock Science-fiction, fantasy, detective fiction, history, biography and true crime, war, natural history. cooking, children's books and try to avoid current text books.We probably have the largest collection of Science Fiction, Penguins and general crime in Victoria in an open shop ( David has 8 bookcases 900mm x 2200mm of sf and f) ( Penny has 8 bookcases 1200mm x 2400 of sf and f )
