A handsome reprint edition of the historical novel by Charles Dickens (1812-1870), first published in weekly installments in his Master Humphrey's Clock journal in 1841. Winterich. Sandglass leaflet not present. --- In full pale grey cloth-covered boards w/maroon decorations on covers & spine, gilt title oval on spine, and publisher's maroon topstain. Volume bears 1941 date, but possibly published c.1950s-70s. Slipcase with a little rubbing, but structurally sound.; Octavo (8 to 9 in. tall); 637 pages .

Synopsis

Barnaby Rudge: A Tale of the Riots of Eighty,  commonly known as Barnaby Rudge , is an historical novel by the author Charles Dickens. Barnaby Rudge was one of two novels that Dickens published in his short-lived weekly serial Master Humphrey's Clock, which lasted from 1840 to 1841, when the book was published. It was Dickens' first attempt at an historical novel, his only other being A Tale of Two Cities.
