A first edition of this long-form romantic poem by the "Poet of the Sierras", Joaquin Miller. Miller, born in Indiana, made his way to California where he lived for a time amongst the Modoc Indians. --- In full green cloth-covered boards with decorations in blind and gilt to covers, spine titling in gilt, and lavender endpapers. --- A very nice copy: clean and tightly bound but with some yellowing to leaves, sunning to endpapers and penciled presentation remarks to front fly page.; 12mo - 7 to 7-1/2 in. tall; 244 pages .
