Private bookplate of Sarah and Martin Mortimer, A clean and tight copy 224pp. With b/w plates and line drawings. Starting in the sixteenth-century, the author begins to survey the Iberian Baroque with the Plateresque in Spain and the Manoeline in Portugal, and continues on until, over two hundred years later, he reaches the High Baroque conclusion of Castile, Seville and Granada, and the Rococo decadence of eighteenth-century Portugal. Between these points he has examined some architectural and sculptural masterpieces of astonishing quality and individuality.
