Thirty-two page illustration section on coated paper, more than 100 b/w photographs, detailed and graphic, most never published before being published in this book. In this suspenseful narrative, Wyden describes how the CIA acquired its private air force for this ill-fated and ill-judged attempted invasion of Cuba in 1961, and how the planners ignored coral reefs almost dooming the invasion from the start. He details the bizarre CIA preparations for the invasion, the staging of a dummy invasion to confuse Castro, the fake crash landing of a phony Castro warplane in Florida, the exclusion of Cuba's government-in-exile from the final planning, and many other details about this so called planned war. Very clean and unmarked yellow and red wraps with black titles, slight wear to extremities, no creases, tight & solid, square. Maps of Bay of Pigs.. Internals very clean, no marks of any kind. 352 pages including Bibliographical Notes, Chapter Notes and Index. 6 x 9.25 inches. 1980, , Simon and Schuster, New York, New York, USA
