First UK Edition; A Fine book in a Near Fine dust jacket. An outstanding copy of this novel, being the scarce UK edition (published concurrently with the US edition), in a beautiful custom slipcase; basis for the excellent award winning film starring Regina King, Kiki Layne, etc. This copy carries Larry McMurtry's personal bookplate to the front pastedown and is in fine condition with bright spine lettering, a square tight binding, and crisp white pages; only trivial shelf wear to the board edges. Housed in a clean and bright nearly fine dust jacket that shows only some light chipping to the spine ends and a couple small ink marks through the price on the bottom of the front flap with a new price written in. Not remaindered and not ex-library; in archival protection and will ship in a sturdy box.
