Collins, 1955. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1955. Reprinted. 255 pages. No dust jacket. Blue cloth. Black and white illustrations throughout. Binding remains firm. Pages have light tanning and foxing throughout. Water staining to some page edges with stains and markings to some pages, text remains readable. Sticker residue to front free endpaper. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Light sunning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Wear marks overall.
Synopsis
NOEL STREATFEILD was born in Amberley, Sussex in 1895. Her first novel, Ballet Shoes , is her best-known book but she went on to write many well-loved books for children, including Circus Shoes which won the Carnegie Medal in 1938. In 1983 she was honoured for her contribution to children's publishing when she was awarded an OBE. She died in 1986.
