About This Item

London: Thornton Butterworth Ltd, 1934. First edition. Cloth. Very Good Indeed/Good. 9" by 6". Robert Dominog. A very smart, first edition copy of this illustrated biography of revolutionary twentieth-century bullfighter, Juan Belmonte. In the original dust wrapper. Presenting this fascinating biographical work on the life and career of early 20th century bullfighter, Juan Belmonte. Belmonte had minor deformities in his legs which forced him to invent new techniques and methods to find success as a bullfighter. The first edition of this work. Written by Henry Baerlein. Containing a frontispiece, a further full page illustrated plate, and numerous in-text illustrations, as issued. Enclosed in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Also including three loosely inserted bull fighting post cards, dated 1958, from Barcelona. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart, with just a small amount of bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. Original unclipped dust wrapper has some light edgewear and chipping. A closed tear to the tail of the front joint and a few tidemarks to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. A small amount of age-toning and spotting to the first and last few pages, otherwise pages are bright and clean. Very Good Indeed
