About the author

LARRY NIVEN is the author of the Ringworld series and many other science fiction and fantasy masterpieces. His many honors include the Nebula, five Hugos, four Locuses, two Ditmars, the Prometheus, and the Robert A. Heinlein Award.

JERRY POURNELLE (1933-2017) was an essayist, journalist, and science fiction author best known for his collaborations with Niven, including Inferno and Escape from Hell. Pournelle was the inaugural winner of the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer.

STEVEN BARNES' first published collaboration with Niven, The Locusts, was nominated for a Hugo award. He has also written episodes for The Outer Limits, Baywatch, and other television shows.
