Frasconi, Antonio. (Frasconi, Antonio)illus. BESTIARY by Pablo Neruda. Harcourt, Brace and World, NY, 1965. Limited edition of 300 signed copies on Rives mouldmade paper (there was also a "regular edition" of 3500 unsigned copies on other paper). Quarto, cloth-backed pictorial boards, slipcase, unpaginated (40 pages plus free endpapers), frontispiece woodcut in colors, printed on Goyu paper and signed by Frasconi, introduction by Angel Flores, poem with English and Spanish text by Neruda, and large and small woodcut illustrations of various wildlife by Frasconi printed from the original blocks. Signed on the Colophon page by Frasconi and by the printer, Joseph Blumenthal. The poem originally appeared in a collection of Neruda's poetry titled "Estravagario," publsihed in Buenos Aires in 1958. In Fine condition throughout with the exception of a small spot of tan colored stain of undetermined origin which affects the lower margin of pages 10-13.
