Blackwood, Le Bas and Co., 1111. Hardcover. Acceptable. The Melrose Edition. 392 pages. No dust jacket. Green embossed cloth with gilt lettering and decoration to spine. Contains black and white illustrated plates. The Waverley Novels No. 19. Pages are lightly tanned with moderate foxing to endpapers and text block edges. Minor dog-eared corners, with a few small nicks and rub marks along text block edge. Slight crinkling and cracking to gutters with exposed netting. Binding remains firm. Occasional thumb-marking present throughout. Plates are bright and clear, with slight tanning and foxing to edges. Boards have light shelf-wear with minor corner bumping and mild crushing to spine ends. Fairly heavy tanning to spine, with visible crushing to spine ends. Book has a pronounced forward lean and subtle bow.
