Dj slight edge wear; unclipped 13.75 in protective sleeve. Classic photographs of Osbourne in '56 and '81. Very attractive. The first installment of John Osborne's autobiography tells of his early life up to 1956 and the production of his internationally celebrated "Look Back in Anger". This play established him as the literary type of 'the angry young man', for its main character, Jimmy Porter, is relentlessly and vocally angry with the world as it is. Mary McCarthy called his plays "lively descriptions of Hell," and since he was describing the world of his fellow Londoners he naturally made many of them angry at him. This book reveals in detail the sources of Osborne's anger. 285 pages.. First Edition. Hardcover. Fine/Fine. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Book.
