Stated First Edition in unclipped original dust jacket. Illustrated with drawings by the author. Some underlining of text in this book! Gold cloth boards with gold metallic botanical decoration on cover, metallic lettering on spine. Tiny spot of wear to one corner tip. Binding is tight and square, hinges are sound - no cracking. Pages and edges are clean with decorated endpapers (very small previous owner name and date at top edge of front free endpaper, tasteful bookplate on half-title page). 367 pages with index. Dust jacket has a few very small edge chips, several short closed edge tears, hint of very light soiling. Enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover. Forty acres of land in the Colorado Rockies are the author's subject in prose and drawing. Tells, in beautiful and simple language and drawings, of meadow, lake, marsh and forest, of algae and dragonflies, of deer and jays that live in the thin clear air of the mountain world..
