London: Gollancz Ltd, 1953. Very Good/Very Good. London: Victor Gollancz Ltd., 1953. First British Edition. Octavo (19.3 cm), 304pp. Intact yellow dust jacket with red and black printing. Red cloth bound boards with gilt stamped spine. Dust jacket slightly soiled on front and back with most discoloration on the spine. Tears on the joints of the spine at top and bottom and on the margins of the covers with some loss to the corners. Corners of the board very lightly bumped with more significant bumps to the head and tail of the spine. Some light discoloration on the back inside board. Binding cocked but sound. Includes bookplate from Danish publishing house Gyldendal on the front paste down. Some separation in the gutter between pages 30 and 31 and pencil marks on page 8. This story of a man wrongfully convicted and his son on the quest to find justice which has been adapted into multiple TV shows and movies, including a handful of Bollywood versions.
