In overall very good used condition with only minor signs of age, handling and storage - brown leather bindings with gilt titles and raised bands to spines, slightly marked. Bindings tight and appear almost unopened. Internally clean, no annotation - 21st birthday gift inscriptions to reverse of front endpaper in volume one only; burnished page-ends retain lustre, text, marbled endpapers and maps bright and clear throughout. Both volumes retain their yellow satin page-markers. A particularly handsome set. Photographs available. Not an old library book.

With an Introduction by poet Laurence Binyon. Handsomely printed on India paper by Carl Ueberreuter at Vienna, Austria. Note: different copies vary in pagination by a few or as many as thirty pages: this pirnting ends with "A Chapter Key To The Bible".
