1532 Robert Estienne Latin BIBLE Paris Biblia Breves Apocrypha Hebrew Index RARE

Robert Estienne's 16th-century Paris Bibles are considered some of the most famous and desirable printed versions of scripture. Both the Greek and Latin editions of Estienne's Bibles are regularly sought after and are notable for their thoroughness as well as age.

This 1532 Latin edition is the second Estienne edition of the Latin 'Biblia'. It features marginal references, short notes, and special signs unique to Estienne that denote omitted words from the original. The changes also include the addition of book of 3 Maccabees and the rendering 'ipsum conteret' in Genesis 3:15. (D&M). Etienne also included an extensive index of important Hebrew words.

1781 1ed Captain James Cook Voyage Australia Zealand Hawaii Pacific MAP Rickman"Remember, the greater the opportunity, the fewer are those who see it." – James Cook James Cook was an 18th-century British explorer known for these three major world voyages. The third Pacific voyage, which began in 1776, took Cook and his crew around New Zealand and Hawaii. On this trip, Cook became well acquainted with the King of Hawaii, Kalani-opu'u. After spending time in the South Pacific, Cook also took his ship northward to the Aleutian Islands reaching to the Arctic Circle. Cook eventually died upon his return to Hawaii, after angering the King of Hawaii. According to Hill, who does not note this rare Dublin edition, states:"This anonymous journal, of Captain Cook's third voyage, was once believed to have been written by John Ledyard, who had actually made liberal use of Lieutenant Rickman's account; hence the confusion.
