Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1957. Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. First edition. Tiny spot on title page, fine in very good or better dustwrapper with a little offsetting and rubbing. A proletarian novel by a little known Southern writer, very seldom found in this condition. Six men and a woman, each in flight from the law and their pasts, meet in the darkness of a boxcar for a dangerous journey from the deep South to the North. Something of a minor classic.
