James Ellroy (1948-) is an American writer who uses 1950's Los Angeles as the setting of many of his mysteries. The Black Dahlia and L.A. Confidential are good expamples. Stated first printing September 1988 with full number line. Blue paper boards with dark blue cloth at spine; silver lettering on spine only. Binding tight, square and clean but because of the size of the book or because of shelf placement, one inch of the blue paper has worn away at the bottom edge of the front board exposing the cardboard underneath. There is also some darkening of the out-facing sides of the page block. Unclipped dust jacket is bumped at all extremities but has no tears. 406 pages.
