New York & Toronto: Rinehart & Company, 1946 Rosten (1913-1995) was an American poet, playwright and novelist. He was often refered to as 'Brooklyn's poet.' He wrote seven volumes of poetry, four novels, and several stage plays. Today he is remembered for a non-fiction book about the relationship that Rosten and his wife had with Marilyn Monroe for the 7 years before her death. The sale item from 1946 is a narrative poem about the building of the Alcan highway after World War II. Red cloth binding with the the silhouette of Alaska on front board; gold lettering on spine only. Dedication by author on front free end page dated March 1950. Unclipped dust jacket has a chip at bottom of front board, chipping at top of spine, and darkening to the back side of jacket. Minor repairs have been made. 233 pages. Dedication by author to previous owner.
