A very good copy of this book that is difficult to find signed. "Harry Harrison / Brum '91" to title page. Comes with great provenance as this volume was obtained from the estate of Roger Earnshaw, SF collector, well known at British conventions and fandom, who often attended author signings. It is understood that this book was signed at the Twentycon signing Session on 19th July 1991, held at the Andromeda Book Shop, Birmingham. A nice addition to a Harry Harrison SF collection.
Synopsis
Bill, the Galactic Hero is a satirical science fiction novel by Harry Harrison, first published in 1965. It is a retelling of the famous WWI anti-war novel The Good Soldier Švejk by Jaroslav Hašek, set in the future. The overall plot is most similar to Hašek's work, with the protagonist tricked into joining the army, and then sent on a succession of badly-organised adventures.
