Description

New York: The Viking Press, 1966. Since Dame Rebecca was born in County Kerry, Quercus will claim her as an Irish author, despite her OBE. This wonderful espionage novel has a comic sensibility. Popular in its time, now difficult to find in collectible condition. A Fine copy. Teal blue paper-covered boards; ochre linen spine with the lettering in red; decorations in red and gilt. Clean text; 435 pages, very bright and fresh. The dustjacket, in an attractive design by Warren Chappell, has been clipped, but the scissors somehow missed their mark, and the price still shows. There is a small chip on the lower spine and on the edge of front flap; tiny closed tear on the rear panel. Extremely close to Fine condition; in an archival plastic protector. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First American Edition.. Hard Cover. Fine/Near Fine.
