About This Item
The slip-case has some tanning and light surface scuffing; the cover is gilt-tooled and quarter bound--cloth spine/paper boards; there is a tiny stain on The Birds cover upper edge and a light dime sized stain on The Frogs pastedown; the corners are sharp. The binding is tight, textblock pages are clean; there is a Sandglass member's newsletter lain in. Both books are uniquely illustrated throughout.
This is a "dos-à-dos" printed two-book edition of the ancient Greek playwright's fantasies/political satires that are, to this day, celebrated for their wit and keen commentary on politics and society. Introductions by Dudley Fitts and Gilbert Seldes.
