Oral history of a Californian town built by Chinese immigrants in the early 20th century. "Happy Lodging"), south of Sacramento, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places 1971, and designated a National Historic Landmark District in 1990. First buildings were raised 1915, after fire destroyed the Chinatown in near by Walnut Grove, on leased land. 143 pp.
