About This Item

New York: Grosset & Dunlap, 1931. First Edition, Thus. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. 8vo., 312(10)pp. Beautiful assumed first Photo-Play Edition though this copy issued without the still from the 1931 film. Original green cloth with titles stamped in black. Square, tight, and clean throughout with save for previous owner's name on flyleaf and a couple of pages have light smudges. A touch of wear at the spine ends and edges. but still a very well-preserved copy. Very attractive unclipped, illustrated dust-wrapper with image of actor Warner Oland bending over a prostrate woman. Toning to edges and folds. Wear to hinges and edges and a couple of closed tears and nicks. Still, a quite fresh and bright example. A very pleasing collectable copy of an uncommon edition.
