Spine darkened, spine ends lightly frayed, bookplate of noted mystery collector Adrian Homer Goldstone on front pastedown sheet and a smaller label below his bookplate, else a very good copy in lightly used dust jacket with light wear to the spine ends, corners, and extremities. Silver screen goddess, Sheila Fane, has a deep dark secret that makes her reluctant to marry again, though she has just received such a proposal. While in Honolulu shooting her current film, she consults with Tarneverro, fortuneteller to the stars, as to what she should do. After a lot of contemplation, Tarneverro advises her not to marry. Shortly thereafter, Shiela Fane is found murdered. Enter Honolulu police inspector, Charlie Chan.

Synopsis

This book is a murder mystery set in Honolulu. Shelah Fane, the Hollywood star, has come to Hawaii to finish the filming of her latest movie. When she is stabbed to death in her beach house, Charlie Chan is called in to investigate. His movie-struck children are thrilled. Other characters include Shelah's wealthy suitor, her young protegee, a Hollywood fortune-teller, a young man from the Tourist Bureau, a beachcomber and an assortment of actors.
