Slightly smaller book, orange cloth, gilt title bright on front, gilt and orange lettering very fine on spine, 3-line hospital stamp at top of first front end paper, 250 lightly browned pages plus brief biographical note. DJ beneath mylar, the background is deep orange beneath mylar, an illustration of black men on front, some in chains, beneath yellow sun and sky on front, spine and back, praise on back from Ishmael Reed, Maya Angelou, Oscar Handlin and others. DJ has light wear to bottom tips, microtear and very tiny crease at bottom back edge. Near Fine DJ/Very Fine book.
