Description

Garden City, New York: Doubleday and Company inc., 1977. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. The book and jacket are in very good condition, the jacket has minor shelf rubbing and a very small tear on the back of the jacket near the top less than 1/4 of an inch in length (just over half a centimeter), the book also has some shelf rubbing, the text inside aside from an area that was stamped on the pastedown by Doubleday is clean and clear throughout. 'History record that the day after his disastrous press conference which led to his dismissal from command of the U.S. Third Army, General George S. Patton, JR., went chamois hunting. This book is a novel, not a verifiable historical account. It suggests, as a novel just might, that General Patton in fact went hunting for bigger game in September 1945: namely the Russian bear. Now any real historian knows this is a lousy goddamn lie. There's no evidence to suggest that the real reason for Patton's dismissal was an itchy trigger finger, rather than an unguarded remark about Nazis being no different from Republicans and Democrats. However the documents do suggest that if Old Blood and Guts had been allowed one last trial of strength, he might even have given up swearing...' 245 pages. 5.6 x 8.5 inches. .
