Junior Literary Guild & The Viking Press, 1940. First Edition. Hardcover. Good/Acceptable. Bound in blue cloth with embossed cover and illustrated endpapers. Black and white illustrations by Paul Lantz. Binding is tight with a very slight lean. Minor edge wear to extremities. Softening to ends of spine. Blue-stained top edge is faded; text block shows light wear, predominately on leading edge. Toning to endpapers and a few small, soiled areas throughout. Previous owner's bookplate glued to dedication page. Dust jacket is edge worn with numerous small tears and chips, light soiling, and all edges clipped. Dust jacket in a mylar cover. 172pp.
