London: Cecil Palmer, 1924. First edition. Cloth. Very Good. 10" by 8". Various. A first edition, limited edition copy of Bernard Gilbert's 'Bly Market'. A collection of stories of activities on a market day from 7 am to 11.45 pm, featuring a fold out map of the imaginary town and six pages of music. In a white cloth spine with red cloth boards and printed spine labels to spine and front board. This is the first 'Edition de Luxe', limited to eight hundred and seventy five for sale of which this is number 183. In a quarter cloth binding. Externally, some wear and bumping to extremities. Slight staining and rubbing to boards and spotting to spine. Rear hinge very slightly strained but firm. Internally firmly bound. Pages generally clean and bright with the odd spotting to first and last few pages and the fore edge. There is the occasional spot to the main text. Folding map is clean and intact. Very Good
