She was a Publishers Weekly Flying Start Author in 2000. She lives in Brooklyn.

Mike Reed creates illustrations for print and children's books and is a frequent contributor to the Minnesota Opera. He has taught illustration at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, the Rhode Island School of Design, and the College of Visual Arts in St. Paul.
