Dean & Son, Ltd, London, No date. First Edition. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Good/No Dust Jacket. Illustrator: Illustrated. (6) 7-92 pages. Illustrated endpapers showing the various characters from the annual being drawn by a small railway train . The text is illustrated with numerous colour -- full-page, quarter page, half page and vignettes and not so numerous but still plentiful duo tone illustrations -- all illustrations have been drawn up by the same hand but the illustrator is not credited. 1/4 red coloured cloth covered backstrip. 3/4 colour illustrated boards (same illustrator as for internal text) with blue coloured titles. A children's annual from the early 1950s (gift inscription is dated 1953). Bumping and rubbing to the backstrip edges and to the book corners -- the book corners had underlying board visible. There is a 0.25 " hole to the front spine gutter, half an inch from the top edge. Rubbing, handling marks and summer Browning to the rear panels. Age toning to the internal text and there is a gift inscription to the top left-hand corner to the verso of the free front end paper. On page 37 a previous owner has coloured in the "A Painting Page". Size: 4to 9¾" - 12" tall. Please refer to accompanying picture (s). Illustrator: Illustrated. Quantity Available: 1.
