London: Hurst & Blackett. 2nd imp. (1959). 180pp. SIGNED by the author on title page and inscribed "To the memory of Franz Lehar, from Evelyn Laye. The widow of 1923 in London at Dalys Theatre" in blue ink. Laye first appeared in the title role of Lehar's 'The Merry Widow' in May 1923 where she consolidated her position as a top star. The composer Franz Lehár died in 1948. VG book, binding square and tight, internally excellent, in G+ lightly edge worn jacket with a couple of internally repaired closed tears, spine a little faded, now preserved in archival jacket protector . Very Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. 1959.
