First published in 1962, the author knew Harry breaker Morant personally. This book was the basis of a film starring Edward Woodward. preface by author. Black and white photographic frontispiece of Harry (Breaker) Morant. Photographic card cover, same photograph as for frontispiece, with yellow and orange coloured titles to the front panel and orange and white coloured titles to the backstrip. On February 27th 1902 Lieutenant P. J. Hancock, Lieutenant G. R. Witton and Lieutenant H. Morant were executed at Pretoria, South Africa, on the orders of General Kitchener, for the murders of South African civilians. The case has been a cause célèbre ever since, as there has always been doubts about the impartiality of the court-martial / Lord Kitchener's orders / just what the men were executed for.
