New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1938. First American Edition (1938.) Hardcover with dust jacket. 8vo with 286 pages. This was Carl Van Vechten's copy with his large bookplate (3 1/2" by 5") on front paste down. Old newspaper clippings are in a separate Savoy Hotel air mail envelope. The book is in good condition with discoloration in spine gutters. Interior is clean and tight. The dust jacket is in good condition with some shelf wear, one 1 3/4" vertical tear along bottom of spine and rubbing to edges. Still a nice copy. White green brown spine/brown white text. #031592. First American Edition. Hardcover. Good/Good. 8vo. Fiction.
