Description:
New York: Bantam, 1988. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. Ron Miller. This wildly successful book by Hawking went into multiple printings after a somewhat choppy printing start. As it is, this is the choppy start - the first state DJ and book. The first state is quite rare as it has numerous errors and was subsequently destroyed, ( it lacks a Table of Contents as well as having no Dedication and the DJ has factual errors ). Introduction by Carl Sagan. Small ink signature on FFEP, small stain to rear paste down. A touch of edge wear to DJ at crown of spine and some wrinkling to a few interior pages.

London, United Kingdom: Faber and Faber, 1989 UNCORRECTED ADVANCE PROOF BOUND COPY for the cased and paperback editions (actually copied by Faber from corrected page proofs). Prepublication first edition. [Probable publication date: 18 September 1989.] 55pp. Green soft cover. Clean text pages. "Wolfwatching" was Hughes' 14th collection of poetry - he digs deeply into his own childhood and his family history, as well as writing about nature's violence and the meaning he finds in it. Included in the collection is the poem "The Black Rhino" written for the purpose of raising funds to save this endangered animal. The Library Journal considered reading Wolfwatching was "like visiting a zoo envisioned by Hieronymus Bosch: we're caught between fright and fascination". He was married to the American poet Sylvia Plath until her death in 1963. Ted Hughes is considered one of England's finest modern poets - winning the Whitbread Book of the Year in two…

Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 1983. First Edition. Paperback. Very Good. Unrevised, Uncorrected Proofs in plain, mustard-yellow wrappers. Kincaid's first book, a collection of short stories. Uncommon in this format, and in excellent condition other than what was done to it in FSG's mailroom: a small photocopy of the dustjacket copy proof, with ISBN, publication date, and price, was taped to the inner front cover. Once FSG would get these proofs from Crane Duplicating Service, they'd put an ink stamp on the cover in which they would fill in the price and publication date, which they did here in red ballpoint pen. A couple of small smudges to the rear cover and light toning to the edges, else Fine. In stock, ready to ship now from Evanston, IL!
