Folded panoramic map of the Canadian Overland Route through the west tucked into rear pocket. Blue cloth hardcover with gold impressing. Spine darkened with white markings. Label residue on front endpapers. Tear in fold-out map. Two small ink marks on bottom edge of text block slightly mark the bottoms of some pages.

Designed to provide potential emigrants from Britain with information about Canada, Edward Hepple Hall's volume describes Canada province by province as well as containing a chapter on the North-West Territories. Appendix includes emigrant fares and transport, listings of government immigration agents, lands open for settlement in "Manitobah," how to go moose-hunting, etc.
