About This Item
Merle Armitage/Duell, Sloan & Pearce, 1946. This is a Near Fine copy of the author's fourth novel, a picaresque tale originally published in 1938, here reprinted in an attractive edition that is SIGNED by the author and LIMITED to 1500 copies. Edwin Corle (1906-1956) was noted for writings set in California and the American Southwest. Native Americans, such as in his masterwork "Fig Tree John," are often main characters, and he has been compared to John Steinbeck. Decorative paper-covered boards with a black cloth spine: yellow with red and black in a Southwest style. Clean text; 270 pages, with two pages in the rear noting the typeface design; decorative endpapers. Although lacking the dustjacket, the boards remain in Near Fine condition, with only hints of edgewear - a very attractive production. In an archival plastic protector. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Limited/Numbered.. Decorative Cloth. Near Fine/No Jacket.
