London: George and William Nicol, 1836. First edition. Hardcover. Very good -. Octavo. 2 volumes. (8), 204; (8), 192pp. Half brown morocco over marbled boards. Elaborately gilt decorated spine compartments with raised bands. All edges gilt. Illustrated with 2 frontispieces and 71 additional engraved plates, each with a blank guard leaf. Outer hinges and extremities with some rubbing but the binding is quite sound. Occasional foxing of the plates. Contemporary engraved bookplates on pastedown and free endpaper of Vol. I, plus bookplates dated 1936 of Edward Sarnoff (the son of David Sarnoff).
