New York: Viking Press, 1935 Frank (1887-1945) was born a German but left in 1933 and eventually wound up in California in 1937. He then went to work writing screen plays in Hollywood. He wrote poetry and novels. The sale volume is a historical novel based on what is known of the author Cervantes and his Don Quixote. This was his first novel to be published in English in the USA. Stated first edition from March 1935. Red cloth binding with red illustration and white printing on black block on front board; spine whows red and gold lettering on black block. Binding tight and square and surprisingly well preserved for the age of the book. No marking inside or out; usual bumping at spine. Unclipped dust jacket is chipped with small tear at top and bottom of spine as well as small tears at top of board. Repairs and restortions have been made. 301 pages.
