About This Item
London: Heinemann, 1958. A story based on the abortive American Punitive Expedition of 1916 led into Mexico to chastise the famous revolutionary and bandit Francisco Villa. (It was during this campaign that the last cavalry charge was made by the US Army.) Although the episodes have an authentic and documentary flavour, the story is the timeless one of human behaviour under great stress. This novel remains an exploration of the most mysterious of human attributes: courage. A sound, respectable book in an illustrated price-intact jacket. A good read.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good.
