London: Victor Gollancz, 1958. First UK edition. Gilt title on red boards. Very slightly faded spine, with just a few indentations to the front board. Internally there is handwritten to front pastedown 'Officers Mess Library, RAF Waterbeach' else clean, tight and unmarked. Val discovers a dishevelled body on the steps of the church with Hen a young girl. On the steps below they stumble on a cane which had been used to shatter the man's larynx. Jean Catherine Potts, an American author (1910-1999) was a celebrated detective fiction/crime mystery writer. 11. First. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
