Black cloth over thin though rigid boards with a faux leather finish and gilt lettering on the front cover. All text block edges are stained red as issued. A manual for the singing of Gregorian chant in the parishes of Italy with the liturgical text in Latin and the working or instructional text and rubrics are in Italian. The music as given is standard notation and not the square Gregorian chant format. The spine has been repaired (or covered) with a glossy black vinyl tape. One signature (gathering of pages) at the back is sitting proud (projecting). The red stain on the text block edges is faded in patches from exposure to moisture and the page margins are crimped or a tad rippled. All text is clean and very legible and the binding itself is sound. The exterrnals show show moderate wear to board edges. .
