London: William Heinemann, 1925. 950 pp, 7 1/2" H. Medium brown full leather binding with Arts & Crafts-style dark brown lettering and red decoration on spine and front board, top edge gilt. Mottled brown endpapers. Collects all of the author's shorter-than-novel-length stories (56 in total) from 1900 to 1923, linking them in pairs. "In selecting each tandem, I have tried to find tales which have some likeness to each other in theme, or mood, so that any reader who has the curiosity can mark such difference as Time bring to technique or treatment." From the author's Foreword. John Galsworthy is best-known for his Forsyte Saga series of novels. Small tear at top edge of contents page - archivally taped, light to moderate edge wear, very small tear at top of hinges and at top of spine, slight wrinkling at top/bottom of spine, light rubbing to leather icluding a 1 1/2' light scuff on front board, light fading to spine colour and slight fading to top half of front board leather, light browning to fore-edge and bottom of text block. Book is protected in a stiff mylar sleeve.. New Impression.. Full-Leather. Good.
