About This Item
Chicago: Nickerson & Collins Co, 1906. Hardcover. Small 4to. B rown cloth with gilt lettering and device. vii, 368pp. Tissue-guarded frontispiece, numerous illustrations and line drawings, advertising endpapers. Very good. Binding a tad edgeworn and spotted, though tight and internally fine. Attractive first edition of this history of an industry. Subtitle continues: "The Commercial Production of Carbon Dioxide. Design and Construction of Apparatus and Machinery. Efficiency for Refrigerating Purposes. Mineral Waters and Other Beverages. Methods of Carbonating and Bottling. Utilization of Fermentation Carbonic Acid Gas -- Its Collection in the Brewery." Quite nice copy -- and rather uncommon.
