The book is a vivid description and more comprehensive and more factual information than previous accounts. Clean & tight. A nice copy.

About the author

North Callahan (August 7, 1908-December 28, 2004) was an American historian and scholar. Born in Sweetwater, Tennessee, he was educated at the Tennessee Military Institute and the University of Chattanooga, where he graduated cum laude in 1930. He later earned a master's degree from Columbia University and a PhD from New York University. He authored numerous articles and 17 books, and some of those have received various awards. In 1964, Callahan was awarded an honorary doctorate from his alma mater, the University of Chattanooga.
