Leave it to the Spanish to come up with a production of Carmen that brings sex to the fore of the Bizet's tragic opera; the full-page color photographs by Ferran Freixa capture this dark sensuality, as well as the joyful involvement shown by the company in their dancing. Oblong quarto bound in red suede, the cover of which has been adorned by a hand-applied piece of red crepe simulating the whirling folds of Carmen's skirt. Slight offsetting to front free endpaper from crepe affixed to front fixed endpaper, else near fine. Housed in black box with red lettering and design on cover. Also included is a small brochure which gives an idea of this Barcelona publisher's extravagant publications. Most unusual.
