London: George G. Harrap, 1932. 252 pp, 7 1/4" H. red boards with black lettering on spine, black decoration on spine and front board. Number 36 in "Harrap's Shilling Library". "An exciting tale of dope and silk smuggling on the East Coast of England (Salthithe). There is a strong detective element, much admirable local colour, adventure, and a vivid love story." Previous owner's name in ink on half-title page, light browning to edges of endpapers and in margins/gutters of pages, light browning and soiling to edges of text block, light to moderate edge wear, wear and wrinkling at top/bottom of spine, two tiny tears at top of spine, slight lean to spine, minor curl at corners of boards. Dust jacket has edge chips and tears - some with creases and some archivally taped, slight fading to spine colour, now protected in a mylar sleeve. . Hard Cover. Good/Fair. Illus. by Philip Simmonds, dust jacket art..
